White, Shirley H.

Born and raised in Weymouth, she attended Weymouth schools before moving to Canton in the 1950s. Shirley worked for the Canton Public Schools as a baker for over 20 years. Blessed with a sense of humor, she cherished life and her family. She enjoyed painting with oils, her cats and gardening. She was known and could be seen working hours on end in her garden and on her lawn where she would actually be out trimming her lawn and garden with her scissors.
Loving mother of Gail S. White of Canton, Burpee C. White and his wife, Lisa, of Plainville, and the late G. Donald “Zak” Taylor. Sister of the late Richard and Leonard Hart and Barbara Gibson. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Mariah Proctor and Alexandria White and Anne T. and Mark Taylor, as well as five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for Shirley will be held in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, on Friday, April 27, from 4-7 p.m. with a funeral home service at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
