Ferris, Stephen L.
By Canton CitizenStephen L. Ferris, 93, of Canton, passed away June 11 surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Dedham, he graduated from Dedham High School and previously lived in Hyde Park before moving to Canton 22 years ago. Stephen was an Army veteran and Bronze Star recipient of World War II and recently was featured on a YouTube video entitled “Witness to War.” He worked for many years as a cost accountant for Westinghouse in Readville before retiring. Stephen was a history buff, an avid reader, and a volunteer at the Dean S. Luce School in Canton.
Beloved husband of Hilda R. (Stracqualursi). Father of Jayne Dudley and her husband, Paul, of Canton and Stephen L. Ferris, Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Brewster. Grandfather of Michelle Hunt, Erika Dudley, Stephen Ferris and Heather Ferris. Great-grandfather of Grace Hunt. Brother of Audrey Coleman of NH and the late James Ferris.
Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton Friday at 11 a.m. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Friday prior to the mass from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
