Canton mom named Jimmy Fund patient partner

Canton resident and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute patient Amy Ennis, 40, is the patient partner for this year’s Burger King and Valvoline Instant Oil Change “A Chance for Kids & Families” fundraiser. Burger King and Valvoline Instant Oil Change customers can help fight cancer by contributing $1 at participating locations from July 23 through September 2.

As a patient partner, Ennis will meet many Burger King and Valvoline Instant Oil Change employees and will appear in marketing materials, including on social media, to help promote the fundraising campaign. The patient partner program at the Jimmy Fund helps to inspire the community to give by putting a face on the patients treated at Dana-Farber that benefit from their generosity.

Ennis is being treated for colon cancer by Dr. Nadine Jackson McCleary at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Her favorite moments are those spent with her daughter, husband Rich, and dog. She loves trying new recipes in the kitchen and getting exercise outdoors.

With each contribution of $1 or more, Burger King and Valvoline customers will receive a guaranteed-win card as a thank you from the Jimmy Fund, featuring prizes including tropical vacations from Elite Island Resorts, American Airlines AAdvantage miles, theme park tickets, Legends in Concert tickets, GoPro Hero6 camera, food prizes, gift cards to Burger King restaurants and Valvoline Instant Oil Change services, as well as additional cash prizes.

Since 2000, Burger King and Valvoline Instant Oil’s A Chance for Kids & Families fundraiser has raised more than $14 million for the Jimmy Fund to support patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
