James J. McCarthy, 78, of Hollis, New Hampshire, died December 8, 2018.

He was a retired self-employed master electrician and lifetime member of the Ames Rifle and Pistol Club.

James was the devoted husband of Gertrude McCarthy (O’Toole). Loving father of Scott J. McCarthy and his wife, Margaret, of Halifax, and Wendy E. McCarthy. Loving step-father of Karen Molloy of Bourne and Donna Nixon and her husband, Glenn, of Hollis, NH. Loving brother of the late Carol Banks. Proud grandfather of Sean Lanciani, Corey Lanciani, James McCarthy, Patrick McCarthy, John McCarthy, Maggie McCarthy, Rebecca McCarthy, Nolan Nixon, Brendan Nixon, and Jonathan Nixon.

Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, on Friday, December 14, from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
