Jeffery Carter-Sample Alexander, 60, of Canton, passed away at home, unexpectedly, on Wednesday, December 12. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Patricia (Pinette) Alexander and their sons, Jeffrey Carter-Sample Alexander, Jr. and Daniel John Alexander.

Jeff was born in Bourne on December 4, 1958, son of the late Robert and Harryette (Layton) Alexander. He grew up in Falmouth, graduating from Falmouth High School in the Class of 1977. He went on to Worcester Polytechnic Institute, earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1981. In 1992, they made their way back to New England, eventually settling in Canton, where they lived for the last 20 years. Jeff continued working in the engineering industry around the Boston area.

Jeff was a very talented musician and played bass guitar and sang in many bands. He played in Archbishop in high school, The Smoking Creebars in college, and most recently, The DredSox in Canton.

He was a life guard in Falmouth throughout high school and always loved spending his free time at the Falmouth beaches. He was a member of the United Church of Christ. Jeff was an excellent cook and an avid Patriots fan.

Jeff was predeceased by is his parents, his brother Robert Alexander III, and nephew Jason Reeves. In addition to his wife, Patricia, and his sons Jeff, Jr. and Daniel, he leaves his sisters, Sydney A. Reeves and Harriet Chris Haynes and Harriet’s husband, David. It is difficult to put Jeff’s charismatic personality into words. He was so outgoing and made friends wherever he went. He was a wonderful husband and father and was loved and will be missed by many.
