By Canton CitizenPaul D. Salemi, 81, of Sharon, formerly of Canton, passed away February 1 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cambridge, he was raised in Quincy and attended Quincy High School. He was the owner and operator of Fashion Carpet in Norwood, established in 1967. Paul lived in Sharon for over 20 years and had lived in Canton for 30 years. He enjoyed spending the winters in Boca Raton, FL, and was a member of the Boca Resort and Club.
Paul was a devout Christian, spreading love and happiness to those around him as a living example of his faith. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and had an amazing ability to create smiles and laughter. A longtime Patriots season ticket holder, he was always happy watching and discussing his team. Golf became a favorite activity during his retirement.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Barbara A. (Murley). Father of Lisa Dymond of Middleboro, Melanie Hatfield and her husband, Gary, of Lewiston, ME, Vicki Rizzo and her husband, George, of Tewksbury, and the late Paul B. Salemi. Father-in-law of Melissa Salemi of AZ and brother of the late Anthony Salemi. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Darren, Joshua, Nicholas, Brandy, Luke, Jared, and Noah.
