Canton man facing federal charges for armed robberies

A Canton man was arrested at his home on Norfolk Street by FBI agents and Canton police on Thursday, February 28, in connection with a federal investigation into multiple armed robberies in Canton and Mattapan.

Just before 10 a.m. on February 28, authorities arrested Jerron John Perry, 27, of 71 Norfolk Street, and he was charged with interference with commerce by robbery and being a felon in possession of ammunition. Perry appeared in federal court last week and was remanded into custody pending a probable cause and detention hearing scheduled for today, March 7.

Perry is alleged to have committed two robberies in Mattapan and an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven store in Canton Center on October 31.

According to federal authorities, a search of Perry’s house in Canton resulted in the discovery of clothing that matched the suspect’s clothes and two shell casings.

If found guilty, Perry could face up to 20 years in prison, five years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine for the charge of interference and a sentence of no greater than 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000 for the charge of possession of ammunition.
