Bostic, Vernie

Vernie Bostic, 85, of Canton, passed away March 17 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Trinidad, he graduated from Boys Roman Catholic High School in Trinidad. After immigrating to the United States, he resided in Mattapan before moving to Canton in 1991. He worked as a diesel mechanic for H.P. Hood in Charlestown for many years and later for Paolini Construction in Newton before retiring. In his retirement Vernie found enjoyment in spending time and keeping in touch with his family both here and back in Trinidad; being a grandfather; and seeing to his home.

Beloved husband of the late Carol (Chester). Father of Ronald Bostic of Canton and Leslie Bostic and her husband, Kenneth Doss, of Morris Plains, NJ. Grandfather of Lauren Doss. Brother of Jacqueline Joachim of Trinidad and William Bostick of Missouri City, TX.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the funeral home Monday at 10 a.m. Burial Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
