On Sunday, May 19, Betsy’s Barbershop in Canton will host its fourth annual Cuts 4 Cancer event to help support cancer patients and their families through the Joe Andruzzi Foundation.

For a donation of $25 or more, guests can receive a haircut and a free t-shirt. (Regular haircuts are an option — you don’t need to get buzzed!) Activities will include a touch-a-truck with the Canton Fire Department, construction equipment, and Boston Sand and Gravel Super Bowl cement mixer; pony rides from Winsome Academy; tons of raffles; face painting and temporary tattoos. There will be a Grandy’s Ice Cream Truck on site, as well as food catered by The Main Course Market and chili and chowder from Big D’s Neponset Café. Canton’s own DJ Gary Titus will provide entertainment and serve as emcee, and Canton Police Officer Angela Gulla will bring her police horse, Bruno, who will have his mane shaved during the event.

The festivities will also feature a silent auction with items such as sporting event tickets, sports memorabilia, a ride to school on a fire truck, a four-hour ride along with the Stoughton Police, a session with a professional sports photographer for your budding athlete, five-hour limo for the night courtesy of Dockray and Thomas, golf for four with carts from Wampatuck, an hour of ice skating and pizza for up to 20 people at The Canton Ice House, a 15-yard dumpster provided by PBZ Construction, and much more.

The event is open to the community and fun for all ages, so bring the family and enjoy entertainment while supporting a great cause. A haircut is not required to attend the festivities.

With community support and help from sponsors, Betsy’s raised $25,000 last year alone for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) and has collectively raised over $40,000 since the event’s inception.

Founded by former New England Patriot and three-time Super Bowl winner Joe Andruzzi and his wife, Jen, the JAF provides financial assistance to patients and families residing in New England. Joe Andruzzi himself is a former cancer survivor, and after witnessing firsthand the stress that cancer can cause, the Andruzzis created their own foundation to help patients meet life’s day-to-day challenges. Details about the JAF can be found at joeandruzzifoundation.org.

Cuts 4 Cancer will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain or shine) in the parking lot at Betsy’s Barbershop, located at 789 Washington Street. For more information about the event, visit facebook.com/BetsysBarbershop or call 781-821-2230.
