Magic of Kids Camp

St. Gerard’s celebrated “The Magic of Kids Camp” with a special 30th anniversary edition of the popular summer camp held last week at the Galvin Middle School. The camp once again drew hundreds of campers and counselors and paid homage to past Kids Camp experiences with a different theme each day, including Circus (2002), Dr. Seuss (2007), 80s (2009), and Pixar (2011). Activities included perennial favorite Splash Mountain as well as a dunk tank, pirate ship and obstacle course. Kids Camp alumni were also invited to be a part of the magic with special 30th anniversary events planned throughout the week, including a Carnival Night with a “History of Kids Camp” exhibit on display, a Family Sports Night with an alumni Gaelic football match, and the annual week-ending talent show featuring music from the last 30 years.
