Giannelli, Alfred F.
By Canton CitizenAlfred F. Giannelli, 85, of Canton, passed away November 18 at Norwood Hospital.
Born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston Public Schools. After graduating from high school Alfred enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean Conflict as an aircraft mechanic. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he attended East Coast Aero Tech to further his career in aviation technology. Alfred worked for Helio Aircraft at the old Canton Airport and Eastern Airlines in Boston, retiring in 1988. After retirement he worked part-time for Lab Corp in Stoughton and Quest Diagnostics in Westwood.
He married his wife, Sylvia, in 1958 and they moved to Canton in 1963, where they raised their six children. To support his large family, Alfred always worked more than one job. He was a member of the American Legion Post #24 and the Sons of Italy.
Husband of the late Sylvia A. (Forrest). Father of Gianna Carrabino of Burlington, John and his wife, Milene, of Canton, Raymond of Canton, Debbie DiCicco of Raynham, Gary of Hyde Park, and Sabrina Giannelli and her longtime companion Steven Limongiello of NC. Brother of the late Gerald and Joseph Giannelli. Also survived by his girlfriend, Diane Ledger of Canton, as well as 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
