Presidential Primary Registration Info

Editor’s note: The headline in the January 30 print edition incorrectly listed the registration deadline as March 3. The election is March 3 and the registration deadline is February 12.

Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that the last day to register to vote for the March 3 Presidential Primary is Wednesday, February 12. The Town Clerk’s office will remain open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on February 12.

Residents may also register to vote online through the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website at www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr, or they may request to have a voter registration form mailed to them by calling the Town Clerk’s office at 781-821-5013. Upon receipt, the form must be completed and returned to the Town Clerk’s office by 8 p.m. on February 12 or mailed with a postmark no later than February 12.

Those who are already registered to vote at their current address do not need to re-register.

The polls will be open on election day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The polling locations for the March 3 Presidential Primary are as follows:

Precincts 1 & 6: Canton High School, Rodman Building, 960 Washington St.

Precinct 2: Dean S. Luce Elementary School, 45 Independence St.

Precinct 3: Blue Hill Regional School, 800 Randolph St.

Precincts 4 & 5: John F. Kennedy School, 100 Dedham St.

If you do not know your precinct or political party affiliation, please visit the Election Division website or call the Town Clerk’s office at 781-821-5013.

Town Hall is handicapped accessible and there is an ADA-compliant ballot marking device available in the Town Clerk’s office, which provides autonomy to voters who may have a disability or condition that makes it difficult to traditionally mark a ballot.
