McNamara, Karen A.
By Canton CitizenKaren Ann McNamara, 52, died unexpected April 3, 2020, at her home in Bar Harbor. She was born August 28, 1967, in Boston, the daughter of Arthur Donald and Norah Christina (Brennan) McNamara.
She graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1985, University of New Hampshire Animal Science Pre Med (Minor/Wildlife Biology), Class of 1992, and University of Virginia School of Nursing in 1997. Karen worked at University Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, Mass General Hospital in Boston, and VA Medical Center in West Roxbury.
Karen was a devoted lover of animals, particularly concerned over the welfare of cats and dogs. She enjoyed hiking, knitting and reading.
She is survived by her parents; brothers Noel McNamara of Canton and Brad McNamara, niece Kennedie McNamara, nephew Brady McNamara, and sister-in-law Kristie McNamara, all of Rutland; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
