Corrigan, Donald L.
By Canton CitizenDonald L. Corrigan, formerly of Canton, of Stoughton and Stuart, FL, passed away May 18.
Born and raised in Dorchester, he attended Boston English High School, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and served in the United States Navy. He worked for over 50 years for IBEW Local 103, Boston before retiring. After retiring he worked as a professional funeral assistant at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton for several years.
He was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 2095 in Canton, where he played in the over-30 softball and bowling leagues. He played in the Norwood K of C Golf League and was also a member of the Ponkapoag Civic Association and an active member and coach of Canton Youth Baseball and Canton Youth Hockey and was a member of the American Legion Post 62 in Stuart, FL. Don was also an avid golfer and a member of the De la Bahia Golf League in Stuart, FL.
Beloved husband of Marie L. (Kindelan). Father of Michael W. Corrigan and his wife, Bonnie, of Whitman, John F. Corrigan and his companion, Carmen Bastis, of Middleboro, and Colette M. Corrigan and her husband, Michael Bourikas, of Bridgewater. Brother of Patricia Downey of Melrose, Elizabeth Dearing of Wilmington, and the late Robert and Lewis Corrigan. Lovingly known as “Bips” by his seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton Tuesday, June 9, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Canton Corner Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to St. John School Foundation, Box 604, Canton, MA 02021. For guestbook, see dockrayandthomasfuneralhome.com.
