Gada, Dennis J.
By Canton CitizenDennis J. Gada, 68, of Stoughton, passed away suddenly July 16.
Born in Niantic, CT, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School and UMass Amherst. He worked at the Carney Hospital in Dorchester for many years as the director of the Division of General Services before retiring. Dennis was a longtime resident of Stoughton where he was on the board of directors and served as a coach for Stoughton Little League as well as an umpire for Babe Ruth, Little League and high school baseball. He was also a member of the Stoughton Sons of Italy and a Stoughton town meeting representative. Dennis enjoyed working with his hands, working on race cars, and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Beloved husband of Joanne (Wohlgemuth). Father of Christopher M. Gada of Stoughton, Kimberly A. Jordan and her husband, Patric, of Stoughton, and Matthew T. Gada of Stoughton. Brother of Peggy A. Stewart and her husband, Bob, of Ashburnham and the late Edward P. Gada and his wife, Phyllis, of East Lyme, CT.
A funeral mass was held Monday in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Burial private. Donations may be made in his memory to Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Shapiro Cardiovascular Center, 70 Francis St., Boston, MA 02115. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
