Kenefick, Lena H.
By Canton CitizenLena H. (Giammarco) Kenefick, 98, recently of Newton Upper Falls, formerly of Canton, passed away at Newton Wellesley Hospital on August 24, 2020.
She was the loving wife of the late Albert R. Kenefick for 64 years, daughter of the late James and Maria Giammarco, and sister of the late James and Rudolph Giammarco. Lena was also the devoted friend of the late Evelyn Russell. Born and raised in Stoughton, she graduated from Stoughton High School and attended Barrow’s Bookkeeping School. She worked for several years at Phillips Manufacturing in Stoughton, and also worked at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton for many years.
Lena is survived by her children, Albert R. Jr, and his wife, Ishing Kenefick, of California, David A. Kenefick and his husband, Michael Toppan, of New Hampshire, Mary Jane (Kenefick) Stanlaske of East Walpole, and John and his wife, Heesong Kenefick, of South Carolina. Also survived by her grandchildren, Vikki (Stanlaske) Cunningham and her husband, Paul, of East Walpole, Robert A. Stanlaske and his wife, Samantha, of Pennsylvania, Dylan Kenefick, USMC, Japan and Faye Kenefick of CA, and great-grandchildren Benjamin and Abigail Cunningham of East Walpole and Noah, Caden, and Jaxson Stanlaske of Pennsylvania. Lena also leaves her loving cousin Leila Truant of Needham and her wonderful friend Charles Gilday of Newton.
We would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Newton Wellesley Hospital on 6East for the amazing care they provided our mother. We also are so grateful to all the wonderful people at the Stone Rehab and Senior Living in Newton Upper Falls for taking such good care of our mother during this time.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Visiting hour prior to the mass at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, from 9-10 a.m. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, immediately following.
