By Canton CitizenKathleen Purdie, 65, of Canton, passed away September 8 at the Southeast Rehabilitation Center in Easton.
Born in Medford, she was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide for several years at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton and at Norwood Hospital. She coached and played in the Canton Women’s Softball League for many years and was also a member of the American Legion Post #24 in Canton.
Sister of Carol Tracy and her husband, Harris, of Stoughton, William J. Purdie, Jr. of Tampa, FL, and James W. Purdie and his former wife, Jessie Purdie, of Stoughton. She was the daughter of the late William J., Sr. “Red” and Margaret (Conley) Purdie. Also survived by one niece, five nephews, and three grandnieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held Monday in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial private. Donations may be made in her memory to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
