Healy, Leo A.
By Canton CitizenLeo Arthur Barrieau Healy, 98, died peacefully on January 27, 2021, at his son Robert’s home in Plainfield, New Hampshire.
He was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, and at a young age his family moved to Readville, a neighborhood of Boston. He enlisted in the Army prior to World War II and was recruited into the newly formed 10th Mountain Division of the 86th Infantry. Leo returned from the European battlefields a decorated veteran. After being the first manager of the Blue Hill Ski Area, Leo founded Model Engineering Corporation, an innovative machining facility which serviced the computer and space age industries. His spare time activities always reflected his fondness for the outdoors — a love he instilled in his family. His favorite pastimes were skiing, sailing, and most recently iceboating.
