Roadside trash a real problem

Dear Editor:

As a fairly new resident of Canton, I am appalled at the amount of trash I see along roadsides in our town. Route 138 is one I travel often and any trash dropped beside the road simply seems to stay there. Another eyesore is when I am getting off the freeway at Exit 2A heading toward Stoughton. The grass on the right contains an unbelievable scattering of litter. I am wondering how this problem can be addressed and resolved. Surely I am not the only local who dislikes having this rubbish mar our community.
