Gifford, Daniel F.

Daniel F. Gifford Sr., 64, of Canton, passed away May 23 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Norwood, he was raised in Pembroke and graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School. He worked as a carpenter and maintenance worker for Cumming Corp in Avon before retiring. Danny enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, and was a history buff who enjoyed visiting historic lighthouses and forts.

Beloved husband of Cynthia I. (Kelle). Father of Daniel F. Gifford Jr. and his wife, Heather, of Pascoag, RI, Cynthia J. Ciccolo and her husband, Michael, of Brockton, and Johanna C. Nashawaty and her husband, Charles, of Canton.  Brother of Timothy Gifford of SC, Robert Gifford of Pembroke, Kevin Gifford of NY, and Kenny Gifford of Taunton. Also survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, on Friday, May 28, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Collings Foundation at www.collingsfoundation.org.
