CPD to charge suspect in gas station robbery
By Mike BergerCanton police have solved the robbery that occurred at the Route 138 Shell Station on April 18. The suspect, Brandon Goss, 22, of Weymouth, will be charged with armed robbery and larceny at the Shell Station and attempted robbery of the Blue Hill Express station. Detective Sgt. Paul Gallagher said Goss was arrested later that day (April 18) in Weymouth for similar crimes. He will be arraigned in Stoughton District Court at a later date on the Canton robbery charges.
Stoughton man faces road rage charges
A Stoughton man will be summoned to court to face charges in connection with an alleged road rage incident at Turnpike and Farm streets on the morning of Friday, June 4. Deputy Police Chief Helena Rafferty said the suspect, Lisbel Tejada, 29, allegedly made threats to kill the other motorist and slashed her tires while they were in traffic. No one was injured but Rafferty said the victim was visibly shaken up. Tejada faces two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and a charge of malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
Student vaccination clinic scheduled for June 16
A second-dose COVID vaccination clinic for students ages 12 and over will be held on Wednesday, June 16, at the Rodman Administration Center. Approximately 100 students received their first doses at a clinic two weeks ago. Following Governor Charlie Baker’s lifting of emergency orders and the state of emergency, Canton’s COVID-19 Task Force will host its final public webinar on June 16 at 7 p.m. Residents can visit the town’s COVID-19 information page for a direct Zoom link, or they can watch the webinar live on Canton Cable or via live-stream at CantonCommunityTV.org.
Town to host Hazardous Waste Day July 10
The town of Canton will hold its Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, July 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DPW garage at 150 Bolivar Street. A flyer has been posted on the town website with a list of accepted materials and instructions on how to transport materials. Costs are determined per car load.
