Gildea, Mary D.
By Canton CitizenMary D. Gildea (DeMers) of Canton passed away October 7.
Born and raised in West Milan, NH, she has lived in Canton since 1955. She worked as a supervisor for Groveton Stationary Co. for 10 years before retiring. In her free time Mary enjoyed walking, traveling in northern New England, working in her garden, and most especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Mother of Kevin Gildea and his wife, Laura, of Bellingham, Brian Gildea and his wife, Maryanne, of Bedford, Greg Gildea and his wife, Annmarie, of Natick, Stanley Gildea and his wife, Christine, of Mansfield, and the late Theresa Gildea. Sister of Gladys Matheson of Easton and Sr. Mary Lorraine OCS of Jamaica Plain and the late Lucille Wentworth, Priscilla Gilchris, Doris DeMers, and David DeMers. Also survived by seven grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held Wednesday in St. Oscar Romero Church in Canton. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Vincent de Paul, 700 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
