Dooley, Margaret T.
By Canton CitizenMargaret T. “Peg” Dooley (McDonald), 94, passed away suddenly on October 30.
Born and raised in Newton, Peg was the daughter of John and Margaret (Hamrock) McDonald. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and then spent several summers on Cape Cod where she met her husband, Bill. Bill and Peg lived throughout Massachusetts before settling in Canton in the late 1950s. They were active parishioners at St. Gerard Majella Church where Peg also served as a Eucharistic minister and a past member of the Canton Catholic Women’s Club. After moving closer to St. John the Evangelist, Peg continued her faithful worship there.
Peg enjoyed years of golf at Ponkapoag, many laughs at the Canton Senior Center, old friends from “the neighborhood,” new friends at Forge Pond and Cornerstone, and most of all, time with her large and loving family. Her easygoing, positive outlook and quick wit was welcomed and treasured by all she met.

Dooley Jr. of Naples, FL, Nancy Blackman of East Bridgewater, Thomas Dooley of Canton, John Dooley of Marstons Mills, Brian Dooley of Canton, and Susan Dooley of Worcester. Sister of Rosalie Killion of Mashpee and the late Jesse McDonald, Mary Lakeman, Nancy Flynn, and Harry McDonald. Also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
