Juitt, Dorothy N.

By

Dorothy N. Juitt (Goldberg), “Mrs. Red Sox,” 90, of Mattapan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

She was the devoted wife of Joseph E. Juitt. Loving daughter of the late Harry and Ida Goldberg (Carpenter). She was a graduate of Girls Latin School in Boston, Simmons College for Girls, Class of ’53, and the University of Washington in Washington State. She earned her degree in institutional management and went on to be a registered dietician in many fine hospitals and nursing homes in Massachusetts.

She was very proud of her profession and was the assistant food service director at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, where along with her many duties, she loved to coordinate the functions for the patients, staff and their families. Her favorite thing to do at the end of the meal was to turn out the lights and wheel the Baked Alaska (on flambe) into the room and watch the reactions of her guests. She loved people and truly was a people person.

Later, when her husband became ill, she left her job to take care of him at home. Dorothy was married for almost 55 years to her husband, Joe, who passed away in February 2012. Dorothy loved her family, her friends, and she loved God, her fortress and her strength. She could be found on Saturday mornings sitting at Sha’ar Hashamayim in Stoughton discussing the bible and noshing with Rabbi Henry and her friends. She would watch every Red Sox game, no matter what time the game started until it finished, whether they were winning or losing.

She was the loving mother of Mark D. Juitt and his former late wife, Monica, of Middleboro, Robin J. Omar and her husband, John, of Brockton, and David N. Juitt and his former wife, Laura, of Arlington. Sister of the late Golda Goldberg. Proud grandmother of Benjamin Juitt of Belchertown, Nina Bonelli of South Boston, and Timothy Juitt of Quincy.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, www.roache-pushard.com.
