CPL News: February is Love Your Library Month

The Friends of the Canton Public Library are celebrating Love Your Library Month with several fun activities for Friends and Canton residents to support their local library.

The Friends are offering three button-making sessions where residents can make their own buttons professing their love of our library using a button-making assembly purchased by funds made available by the Friends. The sessions will be on Saturday, February 12, at 11 a.m.; Thursday, February 17, at 3 p.m.; and Wednesday, February 23, at 7 p.m. Sessions will be held in the new Friends’ Everyday Book Sale area (take a right after entering the library and it’s on your right).

For a $5 donation to the Friends, you can make two buttons of your own design, or pick from the designs available. If you are not comfortable participating in an in-person session, you may purchase an already made button for $2, or you can also take a chance with the 50/50 raffle at the library checkout desk. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

The Friends support and enhance library services in Canton by raising funds for special purchases not available through the regular library budget, serving as advocates for the library by focusing public attention on its services and resources, and sponsoring programs and cultural activities for children and adults.

Friends memberships are only $10 per year for individuals, $15 per year for families, and $5 per year for seniors. Corporate membership is $50 per year and Life membership is $100 for individuals, $150 for families and $50 for seniors.
