Canton Writes seeks new leadership

For the past 13 years the Friends of the Canton Public Library have sponsored the popular town-wide Canton Writes writing competition. This year, the Friends are seeking new leadership — a volunteer (or volunteers) to head up the program and keep it on its course. Tasks include:

* Setting the timeline and reserving space at the library for the awards ceremony

* Updating existing communications with the 2022 dates and information

* Making sure the judges are coming back again this year

* Deciding on the prizes

* Working with the Canton Citizen as the sponsor

* Hosting the awards ceremony

Of course you will have much support from the Friends, who are completing the behind-the-scenes tasks to ensure everything happens according to the timeline. It is certainly not a one-person show! But it is unfortunately a reality that without a leader the program will have to be shelved indefinitely and will not take place this year.
