DeLello, Kathleen M.
By Canton CitizenKathleen M. “Kate” DeLello (McGowan), 52, of Canton, passed away March 22 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Boston, she was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School and Westfield State University. After a brief career as an elementary school teacher, Kate cherished her role in her favorite job as director of operations at home as a mother, wife, aunt, sister and daughter. A “second mom” to many, Kate treated everyone she met with kindness and compassion, always putting others needs ahead of her own.
She was a lifelong resident of Canton and a devoted wife and mother. She was an active parishioner of St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton where she previously taught CCD and volunteered for many events in support of her children’s involvement in the youth activities of the church. Kate was also a proud member of the Milton Hoosic Club for many years where she enjoyed many times with friends and family.
Beloved wife of 26 years to Robert A. DeLello. Mother of Annie, Tommy, James, and Billy DeLello, all of Canton. Daughter of Jeanmarie McGowan of Canton and the late Jerry McGowan. Sister of Deb Connolly and her husband Chris of Canton and Trish Goyetch of Canton. Daughter-in-law of Richard and Patricia DeLello of Canton. Also survived by seven nieces and 10 nephews.
Visiting hours in St. Oscar Romero Parish, 700 Washington Street, on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass in St. Oscar Romero Parish Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kate’s memory to the Canton High School Boosters, P.O. Box 36, Canton, MA 02021.
