Parise, Marietta I.
By Canton CitizenMarietta Irene (Bubar) Parise, 82, of Canton, passed away May 15.
Born on December 31, 1939, in Portland, Maine, Marietta was raised in South Portland, the only daughter of Omar Bubar and Rachel Giardino Bubar. After graduating from high school, she studied business at Boston College night school while working as a legal secretary during the day. She met her husband, William (Nino) Parise, in 1962, and they were married at St. Gerard’s Church in Canton on November 7, 1964. They were devoted to each other for almost 58 years.
Marietta was happiest when her family and friends from near and far were visiting. Her home was a hub for getting together to enjoy Italian food and colorful stories. Marietta’s mother, Rachel, known as Gram, lived with her for many years. Road trips with Ma and Gram were a summer highlight for Marietta’s three children.
Marietta is survived by her loving husband, William, and their three children, Rachelle and her spouse, David, William, Jr. and his partner, Liz, and Theresa and her spouse, Philip. Also survived by her five grandchildren, Benjamin, Marietta, Josefina, Rose and Philip, and her brothers Arthur, Wayne and Francis. Her brother Clyde passed away last year.
Pray for us, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
