CHS Athletics welcomes Boston Marathon race director
By Mike BergerThe CHS Athletic Department, with the support of the CHS Athletic Booster Club, will be hosting a special information session for parents on Tuesday, September 6, with a presentation by Boston Marathon race director Dave McGillivray.
CHS Athletic Director Danny Erickson said McGillivray’s story of achievement is “inspiring and is an important one to hear.”
“It showcases humility, gratefulness, dedication, hard work and selflessness,” said Erickson. “His story should be heard by everyone.”
Any CHS student currently playing a sport or planning on playing a sport at any point this year is required to attend this event. Erickson also asked that each student bring at least one parent.
“We ask that parents/guardians sit with their student athlete and experience the presentation together,” said Erickson.
The event will be held on September 6 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in the Morse Auditorium at Canton High School. The evening kicks off with a brief welcome message from Erickson, followed by a presentation by the CHS Booster Club, then the presentation by McGillivray, and final remarks from CHS Principal Jeff Sperling.
