Stonis, Brian P.
By Canton CitizenBrian Patrick Stonis, 44, of Winter Springs, Florida, formerly of Canton, passed away December 20, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Canton, Brian graduated from Canton High School in 1996 and the University of Central Florida in 2000. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports, especially football. While in college, he worked for the UCF Knights football team and often traveled with the team. Although he resided in Florida, he was a fan of all New England sports teams and enjoyed going to games in which they played in Florida. Professionally, he was a 401k manager for Alight Financial Solutions.
Beloved husband of Concetta C. (Pettinato) and proud father of two sons, Antonino J. and Brian Patrick Jr. Devoted son to Edward G. and Ellen M. Stonis of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Canton. Brother of Edward G. and Lynn Stonis of Foxboro, Andrea and Peter Galvin of Easton, and Catherine and Patrick Kelly of West Roxbury. Son-in-law of Antonino and Palma Pettinato of DeBary, FL. Brother-in-law of Joe and Michele Pettinato and Antonino and Tina Pettinato, both of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Brian was full of life and enjoyed the simple things. He loved history, politics and sports, but most of all he treasured spending time in Cape Cod with family. His young sons and wife were the light of his life, pushing him to fight so heroically against his battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held in Florida at his parish, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and Newcomer Winter Park Chapel Funeral Home in Winter Park.
