By Canton CitizenRosemarie A. (Booth) Gay, “Tootsie,” loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on January 31, 2023.
Rosemarie was born in Boston on February 10, 1936, raised in Canton and attended Canton Public Schools. She started her work career at Northrop, where she met her husband to be, Richard Gay.
She married Richard on October 4, 1958. They moved to Virginia where Richard was stationed in the U.S. Army. They later moved to Brockton where they raised their three daughters. She resided in East Bridgewater for the past 23 years to be close to her children and grandchildren.
She took great pride in her job at Brookfield Engineering Laboratories, where she worked for 37 years in the accounting/finance departments and made many great lifelong friends.
She was the daughter of the late John Booth and Catherine Booth. She is survived by her husband, Richard Gay; her daughters, Jeannette McCormack and her husband, Steven, Lynn Allen, and Cynthia Hartshorn and her husband, Jason; her sister Joan Wolfe and brother-in-law James Wolfe; her niece Susan Marcone and her husband, John; her grandchildren, Amy Taylor and her husband, Marc, Richard Allen and his wife, Sarah, and Jamie Allen; her great-grandchildren, Ava and Reese Taylor and Caleb Allen; and many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her nephews James and Michael Wolfe.
A funeral Mass was held Monday in St. Ann’s Church in West Bridgewater. Interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Arrangements by the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, West Bridgewater.
