O’Neill, John R.
By Canton CitizenJohn R. O’Neill, 58, a lifelong resident of Canton, died peacefully at home February 12, 2023. He was 58 years old.
John was a friend to all. He graduated from Bridgewater State University and had a successful career working for Reebok, Rockport Shoes, and Hills Department Store. He also enjoyed working a second job on weekends at Cassie’s Corner Store (Little White) in Canton.
He was the son of the late Richard and Alice O’Neill. Devoted husband of the late Margaret A. O’Neill (Sullivan). Brother of Francis O’Neill and his wife, the late Carol O’Neill, of Canton; Elizabeth O’Neill and her husband, Detlef Westphalen, of Roslindale; Kathleen O’Neill and her husband, George O’Connell, of Brattleboro, VT; Deirdre O’Neill and her wife, Nnena Odim, of Roslindale; and the late Patricia O’Neill. John is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Memorial donations can be made to the volunteer transportation organization FISH of Canton, P.O. Box 69, Canton, MA 02021 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. Visiting hours to be announced at a later date.
