By GuestSubmitted by the Committee to Elect Chris Albert
Chris Albert is excited to announce that he is running for a seat on the Select Board in the April 4 town election.
A lifelong resident of Canton, Albert attended elementary and middle school in the town and his wife and two eldest sons are Canton High School graduates. His youngest son is currently a sophomore at CHS and several of his nieces and nephews have graduated or are enrolled in the Canton Public Schools. All six of his siblings went through the Canton schools as well.
For nearly a quarter century, Albert has been the proud owner of D&E Pizza & Subs in downtown Canton. He has also had the opportunity to serve the community as a youth sports coach and board member for many years.
“Canton has been my home since I was 2 years old living on Fairview Road before owning my own home on Meadows Ave. for 20 years,” said Albert. “My goal is to give back and support the community in a larger role. Therefore, I am announcing my candidacy for the Select Board.”
Albert said he “loves Canton” and is eager to become more involved and be of service to his fellow residents.
“I am dedicated to making our community the best it can be,” he said. “Thanks for listening and I would appreciate your support and consideration.”
Voters will have an opportunity to meet Chris Albert at a campaign kick-off event scheduled for Sunday, March 5, from 4-8 p.m. at the Ponkapaog Civic Association, located at 17 Greenbriar Road.
