Lisa Lopez is an experienced & committed leader
By Canton CitizenDear Editor:
After working together on both the Community Preservation Committee (CCPC) and the Affordable Housing Trust Committee, I am proud to support Lisa Lopez’s reelection to the Select Board.
During these years working together I have seen her leadership ability in advocating for and securing a beautiful “town square” in the acquisition of the open space at the Paul Revere Heritage Site. Many other projects that she supported on the CCPC include tennis courts at the high school, new playgrounds at Tilden, Devoll and Ponkapoag ballfields, school playgrounds at the Luce and coming soon to the Hansen. She has advocated for and supported many other projects as well, such as improvements to playing fields and basketball courts, new field lighting, partial funding for both the new swimming pool and Newhouse Waterfront, and many other recreational enhancements.
On the Housing Trust Lisa was elected the chairperson and has been instrumental in creating a Housing Production Plan, hiring a part-time housing coordinator, and preserving an affordability restriction that would have been lost on a local home. She has also directed the housing coordinator in updating the subsidized housing inventory listing and has advocated for the overhaul of how affordable units’ records are kept in town.
I hope that the voters of Canton will join me in voting to return an experienced and committed leader back to the Select Board.
