Ruane III, John F.
By Canton CitizenJohn F. Ruane III, 55, of Canton, passed away on July 18 at home surrounded by his loving friends and family.
Born in Norwood, John was a lifelong resident of Canton and graduated from Canton High School and Western New England College with a degree in criminal justice. John was a proud veteran of the United States Army and worked for many years on the Canton Police Department, retiring as a detective.
He was a coach for Canton Little League and was involved in starting and fundraising for the Galvin Middle School football team. In his free time John enjoyed hunting, woodworking, working on the house, camping, and listening to music around the fire.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Renee I. (Hessling). Loving father of John F. Ruane IV of Canton and Trevor Ruane and his wife, Maggie, of Quincy. Devoted son of John and Nancy Ruane of Marstons Mills. Brother of Cindy LeBlanc and her husband, Bob, of Mansfield and Kathy Delbene and her husband, Kenny, of Peabody. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A congregational service was held Monday morning in St. Oscar Romero Church, followed by military honors at Canton Corner Cemetery.
