Geoghegan, Mary E.
By Canton CitizenMary E. (Moore) Geoghegan, 85, of Canton, died Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton after a brief illness.
Born in the family homestead on Mechanic Street in Canton to the late Frank J. and Mary E. (Doody) Moore, she had been a lifelong resident, attending St. John’s School and graduating from Canton High School. Mrs. Geoghegan had been employed in the administrative, benefits and human resources offices of Bird and Son Roofing and Hills Department Store. She was an avid candlepin bowler and enjoyed baking.
Mrs. Geoghegan was predeceased by her husband, Thomas P. Geoghegan, her son David Geoghegan, her siblings William, Roger and Charlie Moore and Frances “Bubba” Clines, and her son-in-law Ray McIntosh. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa McIntosh, her son Thomas Geoghegan and his wife, Patti, both of Stoughton, and her granddaughter Mary Pat Geoghegan. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial in celebration of Mary’s life at St. Oscar Romero Church (formerly St. John’s), 600 Washington Street, on Thursday (today) at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Canton.
