Thank you from Canton Helpline
By GuestThe Canton Helpline, Inc., a nonprofit organization, is grateful to the Canton Citizen for sharing information with the community about the relocation of our food pantry. The organization appreciates the town of Canton designating space for the Canton Food Pantry in its new location at 1860 Washington Street (formerly St. Gerard’s).
So many worked together to make this happen; special thanks to Food Pantry Coordinator Mary Murray, former volunteer Food Pantry Coordinator Mary Buckley, and countless other volunteers! The Helpline would also like to acknowledge the Canton School Committee for allowing the pantry to be housed in the Rodman building for 15 years and supporting us during that time!
For those who are unaware, the Canton Helpline has been in existence for 40 years, guided by its mission of “supporting, connecting, and advocating for Canton’s community members in need and providing resources and services including food, transportation, fuel and financial assistance.” The support we provide includes the food pantry, emergency services (assisting residents in paying utility bills, providing emergency transportation for folks who cannot get to medical appointments, providing vouchers to purchase items at the Canton Farmers Market, and other assistance as approved by the board), and the Holiday Helpers program, which assists residents with middle school children and younger during the holidays as needed.
Our nonprofit organization is seeing increasing needs daily in our community and we can only provide necessary services with the support of individuals and local businesses.
Your tax-deductible donation will be appreciated and will directly and positively impact our neighbors in need. To donate, you may do so online at cantonmahelpline.org or by mail to: Canton Helpline, Inc., PO Box 202, Canton, MA 02021. You can designate your donation in honor or memory of a loved one and/or direct it to a specific area of need (emergency services, food pantry, holiday helpers).
Thank you for supporting our important work of maintaining basic necessities for families in Canton!
Sincerely,
Canton Helpline Board
