Aledda, Anne
By Canton CitizenAnne Aledda, 100, of Canton, passed away peacefully at Newbridge on the Charles in the presence of her children on November 5, 2023.
Anne was born on November 2, 1923, to Mary And Dominic Annese in East Boston. She graduated from Boston Girls High School in 1941 and worked at Sears and Roebuck in Boston before marrying her beloved husband, Peter Aledda, on August 28, 1949. She was the fourth of seven children and is predeceased by Edith Annese, Anthony Annese, Orlando (John) Annese, Eleanor Hankey, and Robert Annese. Anne is survived by her loving sister Elizabeth Wagner and brother-in-law Robert Wagner of Norwood.
Anne was married to Peter for 64 years and was the adoring mother of five children: Mark P. Aledda and his wife, Martha, of Doral, FL; Linda A. Eardley and her husband, Arnold, of Canton; Peter R. Aledda Jr. of Mashpee; Joanne M. Robbins and her husband, Mark, of Millis; and Susan E. Fuller and her husband, Paul, of Walpole. Anne was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Jonathon, Timmy, Robby, Katie, Mathew, Victoria, Michael, Matt, Nick, PJ, and Christopher. She was also a great-grandmother to Mikey, Kelsea, and Juliana.
Anne and Peter moved from Chestnut Hill to Canton in 1960, where they raised their five children. Anne lived every moment with joy, love, and optimism. She was known for her sweet smile and kindness to everyone she encountered. Anne was a member of the Ponkapoag Civic, Canton Garden Club, and St. Gerard Majella Parish. She loved cooking, gardening, tennis, music and dancing, watching the Red Sox and the Patriots, and playing card games. She was an amazing friend and had a positive impact on so many lives. She will be forever missed.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 9 (today) at 10 a.m. in St. Oscar Romero Parish, 700 Washington Street in Canton. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org, or to Hebrew SeniorLife, 1200 Centre St., Boston, MA 02131 or at www.hebrewseniorlife.org.
