Nastasi, Nicholas D.
By Canton CitizenNicholas D. Nastasi, 87, of Canton, formerly of the North End of Boston and Randolph, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, November 27.
He was the son of the late Natale and Mary (Iocoviello) Nastasi. Nick was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jeanne (Bono), of Canton, and a loving father to his children, Nicholas M. of Canton and Natalie Fabbiano and her husband, Michael, of Canton. He was a loving grandfather to his three granddaughters, Nicole Israel and her husband, Martin, of Hanover, Kristen Harring and her husband, Evan, of Quincy, Emily Fabbiano of Dorchester, and to his great-grandchildren, Lillian and Nathan Israel.
He was the loving brother of Rosemarie Skiffington of Weymouth, Natalie Longo of Chelsea, the late Anthony Nastasi of New Jersey, and brother-in-law of Phyllis Rizzuto of Malden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nick worked as a laborer for Local 22 in Medford for many years after owning a cab company and restaurants in Boston. He enjoyed taking the train into the city to meet his friends in the North End to enjoy a cup of coffee and play cards for hours. He was an avid New England Patriots fan and thoroughly enjoyed reading his daily newspaper. Nick cherished spending time with family and enjoying his wife’s homemade Sunday dinners. He and his wife, Jeanne, shared a passion for traveling to warmer weather, including Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas.
Visiting hours at Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Thursday (today) from 4-7 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Oscar Romero Church in Canton Friday, December 1, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation will be greatly appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at stjude.org.
