Cobb’s Corner McDonald’s closed for repairs after fire
By Mike BergerUpdate (2/21): According to a spokesperson for McDonald’s of New England, the drive-thru at the Cobb’s Corner McDonald’s is open and the lobby was expected to re-open by the end of this week.
The McDonald’s restaurant in Cobb’s Corner will be closed for extensive repairs following the extinguishment of a fire inside the building on Monday evening, February 12.
The fire was reported at approximately 9 p.m., and upon arrival, Canton firefighters observed heavy smoke coming from the building. After discovering fire inside the walls of the front entrance, crews opened the outside walls where they found that the fire reached about halfway up the inside of the wall.
No injuries were reported and the fire was brought under control by about 9:45 p.m. Firefighters from Norwood and Sharon responded to the scene to provide mutual aid, and Stoughton Fire provided station coverage and assisted in responding to two medical calls during the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Canton Fire Department.
