Challengers play ball

The Canton Little League Challenger Division recently wrapped up another successful season of learning, growth and fun. Open to kids ages 6-18, the Challenger Division aims to give developmentally and physically challenged boys and girls the opportunity to enjoy the full benefits of Little League structured to their abilities. The participants are assisted by “buddies” — parents and children who provide support on the field and are always nearby to help when needed.

In addition to learning the game of baseball, participants gain the therapeutic and socialization benefits of participating in sports while building their self-esteem and learning the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play. For more information on this uniquely rewarding program, visit the Challenger Division page at cantonlittleleague.org or contact league representative Scott Lysko at slysko1@yahoo.com.
