Early voting for State Primary begins Aug. 24

By

Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that early voting for the September 3 State Primary will be available in person beginning Saturday, August 24, at Canton Town Hall.

Registered Canton voters will be able to cast their ballots on that day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as on the following dates and times: Monday, August 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, August 27, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, August 28 and 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Friday, August 30, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Town Hall is handicap accessible and there will be an AutoMARK ballot-marking system available for voters who are blind, visually impaired, or have a disability or condition that makes it difficult for them to traditionally mark a ballot.

Early voting by mail is also available, and applications can be picked up in the Town Clerk’s office or accessed online at www.MassEarlyVote.com. Completed applications must be received by the Town Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 26, and “vote by mail” ballots must be returned to the Town Clerk’s office or placed in the ballot drop box in front of Town Hall by 8 p.m. on Election Day, September 3, to be counted.

Please note: Once a voter has cast an early voting ballot, the voter may no longer vote at the polls on Election Day.
