News Notes: Canton DPW begins Dedham Street upgrades

Town honored for financial reporting
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the town of Canton for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which include demonstrating a constructive spirit of “full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story. According to the GFOA, the certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
BOH relocates Narcan box
Public Health Nurse Maeve Moore decided to relocate a Narcan distribution box from the Shepard’s Pond area to the corner of Hagan Court and Washington Street. Other locations so far include the Board of Health office at Pequitside Farm and the Canton Public Library. Other outside locations are planned for the future.
