Adams, Chester E.
By Canton CitizenTrooper Chester E. Adams, 56, of Whitman, formerly of Weymouth, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
A Massachusetts State Trooper and member of the 79th RTT, Chester proudly served the commonwealth for over 18 years. He was a dedicated and well-respected member of the department known for his tireless work ethic. Chester was also a veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, roller skating, and relaxing at home.
Son of the late Elder Timothy and First Lady Gladys Adams. He is survived by his fiancée, Debra A. Mathis, of Brockton. Father of Tyler Adams of Boston. Brother of Pastor Tracy Adams of Norwood, Janice Adams of Roslindale, Timothy Adams Jr. and his wife, Laura, of North Weymouth, and the late Sheila Adams. Chester is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his brothers and sisters on patrol.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 28, in the Congregational Church of Canton, 1541 Washington Street. Interment private. Donations may be made in Chester’s memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. The Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, assisted the family with arrangements.
