Virginia M. “Ginny” Doyle (Lyons), a cherished figure in her community and loving matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully September 4 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Born in Boston, Ginny lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a profound love for those around her.

Raised in Canton, Ginny was a proud graduate of Canton High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and established the foundation of her unwavering community spirit. Throughout her life, Ginny was known for her loving nature and her commitment to her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Doyle Jr., and together they built a family anchored in love and mutual respect.

Ginny’s legacy lives on through her children: Alison Thebado and her husband, Patrick, of Plymouth, Andrea Anderson and her husband, Richard, of Norton, and Greg Doyle of Brighton. Her role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom for her grandchildren Jacqueline Ahearn and her husband, Matthew Thomson, of Bellingham, Kelly Thebado of Plymouth, and Nicole Anderson of Norton. She is also survived by her sister, Lorraine Donovan and her husband, Fred, of St. Simon’s Island, GA, who will miss her dearly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Connors) Lyons.

Professionally, Ginny dedicated many years of service as a bank teller for BayBank and later for Bank of America. Her work ethic and friendly demeanor made her a favorite among her colleagues and customers alike, and she was respected for her integrity and reliability.

A lifelong resident of Canton, Ginny was a former member of the Ponkapoag Civic Association, where she contributed to the betterment of her community. Her interests were as diverse as they were passionate. Ginny enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod and escaping to the warmth of Naples, FL, during the winter months. She found solace in reading, appreciated the stories told through music, and had a keen eye for treasures that she would find while antiquing. Above all, Ginny loved spending time with her family. She was the heart of every gathering, and her presence was a source of joy and comfort.

Ginny’s generosity knew no bounds. She was a person who loved to give, whether it was through her charitable contributions to numerous organizations or the thoughtful gifts she delighted in presenting to her loved ones, especially at Christmas. Her ability to always keep in touch with family and friends was a testament to her caring spirit.

Those who knew Ginny would describe her as loving and generous. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone she met feel special and valued. Ginny’s warm smile and compassionate heart were her trademarks, and she will be remembered for the way she enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Virginia “Ginny” Doyle was a treasure to her family, a pillar in her community, and a friend to all. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were touched by her grace and kindness. Ginny’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and selflessness, and her memory will be cherished forever. As we bid farewell to Ginny, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by an unwavering commitment to family, a passion for life’s simple pleasures, and a generous heart that has left an indelible mark on the world. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
