Early voting for Dec. 10 Special Election begins Nov. 30
By Canton CitizenThe Canton Board of Registrars and the Select Board have announced that early voting for the December 10 Special Town Election will be available in person at Canton Town Hall during the following dates and times: Saturday, Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 4 & 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Friday, Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Town Hall is handicap accessible and there will be an AutoMARK system available for voters who are blind, visually impaired, or have a disability or condition that makes it difficult for them to traditionally mark a ballot.
Registered voters also have the option to request an early voting ballot through the mail. Applications can be picked up in the Town Clerk’s office or accessed online at MassEarlyVote.com. Completed applications must be received in the Town Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3.
Please note: Once a voter has cast an early ballot, the voter may no longer vote at the polls on Election Day. For more information, call 781-821-5013.
Voter Registration Information
Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that the last day to register to vote in the December 10 Special Town Election will be Saturday, November 30. The Town Clerk’s office will be open on that day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Voters may register in person, online through the secretary of the commonwealth’s website at www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr, or by calling the Town Clerk’s office at 781-821-5013 and requesting to have a registration form mailed to their home. Completed forms may be brought to the Town Clerk’s office during normal business hours, returned by mail, or dropped off in the payment box in front of Town Hall. Forms must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on November 30 or returned by mail with a postmark no later than November 30.
If you are registered to vote at your current address, there is no need to re-register.
The polls will remain open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. The polling locations for the December 10 election are as follows: Rodman Educational Center (Precincts 1 & 6), Canton Senior Center (Precincts 2 & 7), Blue Hills Regional School (Precinct 3), and the former St. Gerard’s Church (Precincts 4 & 5).
