Canton Police Department audit progressing as planned
By Mike BergerThe voter-approved independent audit of the Canton Police Department is now more than halfway complete and is reportedly on track to be finished by late March or early April.
Bob McCarthy, head of the Police Audit Procurement Committee, said last week that the auditor, 5 Stones Intelligence, recently spent nine days in Canton reviewing and addressing the scope of services.
Representatives from the Washington, D.C.-based auditing firm told McCarthy that they are now approximately 60 percent complete and are next scheduled to return to Canton in mid-February with another week-long planned for March.
