Galvin, Anthony E.

Anthony (Tony) Edward Galvin, 77, passed away peacefully at home in La Mirada, CA, on January 13, 2025, lovingly surrounded by his family, following a courageous three-year battle with Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia.

Formerly of Canton and Hull, MA, Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Nancy (Curtis) Galvin; his children, Curtis (Katie) Galvin of Gilbert, AZ, Kathleen (Miljana) Galvin-Surbatovic of Los Angeles, CA, and Caroline (Garrett) Brabant of Los Angeles, CA; his granddaughters Brooke and Madeline Galvin, Leah and Anabelle Galvin-Surbatovic, and Olivia Brabant; his sister Paula M. (Brian) Corridan of Springfield, MA; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He is the son of the late Paul and Isabel Galvin of Canton and was preceded in death by his sister Isabel G. (Douglas) Buie of Laguna Niguel, CA.

Tony was a proud military veteran, having served his country with distinction in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and the U.S. Coast Guard for 22 years. He built a successful career as a manufacturer’s representative in the gift and decorative accessories industry, where he was known for his integrity, honesty, and tireless work ethic. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was admired for his endearing charm, charisma, and natural gift for storytelling. He enjoyed sailing in his youth as a member of the Hull Yacht Club, traveling throughout the country, cheering for his children in their athletic pursuits, and spending quality time with family and friends. His humor, generosity, and steadfast devotion to those he loved will be deeply missed.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 27, at 11 a.m. at Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 33926 La Primavera, Dana Point, California. A private burial service will follow on Friday, February 28, at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA.

Tony will also be remembered at the 9 a.m. Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church, 700 Washington Street in Canton, on February 28.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Tony’s memory at www.alz.org.

Tony’s family invites all who knew and loved him to join in honoring his remarkable life and legacy.
