DeSisto, Stephen V.

By

Stephen Vincent DeSisto, 64, of Middleton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, surrounded by his loved ones.

Stephen was born on February 25, 1960, in Hyde Park, son of Joseph and Elaine (Jefferson) DeSisto. He was raised in Canton and graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in 1978.

After graduation, Stephen found his true passion working in the automotive industry. He not only enjoyed selling cars but also built lasting friendships with colleagues and customers alike. Before his retirement, he became widely known in the industry as “Stevie D.”

Stephen met his life partner, Esther Parks, through the automotive industry, and together they blended their families, embracing a chaotic yet joyful life filled with children, significant others, and many dogs.

A lifelong Boston Bruins fan, Stephen attended countless games and cherished a memorable photo with the Stanley Cup alongside longtime coach Claude Julien. His favorite pastimes also included fishing with his family, cooking, trying new restaurants (and offering very strong opinions about them), and spending time in his beloved home surrounded by family.

Stephen was the undisputed champion of the dad joke, and his quick sense of humor will be fondly remembered by his children and all who knew him. His meticulous kitchen regimens, a source of much laughter in their lively household, will also be dearly missed. Stephen was an incredible conversationalist who always took time to listen, whether the problem was big or small. His wide-ranging discussions about food, history, and culture made him a beloved presence in the lives of many, and his home was always a revolving door of friends and family stopping by to talk to “Stevie D.”

Stephen is survived by his life partner, Esther Parks; his children, Courtney DeSisto and her husband, Joshua Heath, of North Andover, Nicole Szatrowski and her husband, Kyle, of Boynton Beach, FL, Michael DeSisto and his wife, Devon, of Essex, VT, Devan DeSisto of Burlington, and Jessica Parks of Puerto Rico; his three brothers, Joseph DeSisto and his wife, Maureen, of Salt Lake City, UT, Peter DeSisto and his wife, Jane, of Canton, and Michael DeSisto of Minneapolis, MN; and his mother, Elaine DeSisto of Canton.

He enjoyed close relationships with many other family members, including his aunt and uncle, cousins, niece, nephews, and grandniece and grandnephews.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. DeSisto, Sr.; his uncle, Albert Michael DeSisto; and his beloved Aunt Helen.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, February 17, in St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Andover. Donations may be made in honor of Ambar Hussein, Stephen’s devoted aid, whose unwavering commitment allowed him to live the life he did, at gofundme.com, or to the MS Ability Alliance, an organization Stephen supported, at msability.org/donate. Arrangements by the Cataudella Funeral Home in Methuen.
