Early voting for town election gets underway March 29
By Canton CitizenVote by Mail deadline is April 1
Canton Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that early voting for the April 8 annual town election will be available beginning Saturday, March 29, at Town Hall.
Registered Canton voters will be able to cast their ballots on that day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as on the following dates and times: Monday, March 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, April 2 and 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Friday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Town Hall is handicap accessible and there will be an AutoMARK system available for voters who are blind, visually impaired, or have a disability or condition that makes it difficult for them to traditionally mark a ballot.
Early voting by mail is also available, and applications can be downloaded from the Town Clerk’s website (town.canton.ma.us/259/Town-Clerk) or by visiting MassEarlyVote.com. Paper copies of the Vote by Mail application are also available at several locations in Canton, including the Town Clerk’s office, Canton Public Library, Canton Senior Center, or the Armando Recreation Center.
Please note: Residents who voted by mail in the 2024 election must still complete and return a new Vote by Mail application in order to take advantage of this option; and unlike in even-numbered years, voters will not automatically receive an application from the Secretary of State’s office. Instead, they must obtain an application on their own from one of the websites or locations listed above and return it to the Town Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1.
Any citizen who is not currently registered to vote in Canton has until 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, to submit a voter registration form. Forms are available in the Town Clerk’s office or online at sec.state.ma.us/OVR.
